The “greenest” states rank highest, and the white states rank low. The green just means the authors of the article and the people they interviewed found the top-ranked states to have the best places and experiences for road trips. And the highest-ranking states are 1) Texas, 2) Minnesota, and 3) New York. The article gives you the ranking criteria. As a Minnesota native and current resident, I’m pleased to see us ranking in the top three!

Here’s a link to information about Minnesota.

Yellowstone Trail of Minnesota

I’m beginning work on traveling the Yellowstone Trail of Minnesota. It enters Minnesota from Wisconsin just north of I-94 east of St. Paul. It runs through the Twin Cities and across the state. At Ortonville, the road enters South Dakota. (I’ll have a link to the trail posts here soon.)

I’ll present other road trips here as they come up.

Road-tripping through Kansas

In September 2024, I’m going on a FAM trip to south-central Kansas. FAM is an acronym for a familiarization trip. A destination or group of destinations fund the trip with complimentary hotel stays and meals. Sometimes, reimbursement includes paying for transportation, as Kansas Tourism is doing here. In exchange, those attending agree to write about our experiences in our blogs or publications.

Want to see a shop for my road trip photos? You can have them printed as wall art or puzzles. They also work on coffee mugs, t-shirts and more! So, take a look. Maybe you'll see something you will like!

Our adventure includes a hotel, meals, and a couple of destinations in Wichita. It is followed by several state parks and historical attractions in a radius of about 50 miles. I’ll have them published sometime in October or November.

Door County in Wisconsin

A friend continued asking me to take him on a road trip with me. Although I dragged my feet for a while, we are going to Door County, Wisconsin, after my trip to Kansas. I haven’t decided if I’ll write about it or if it will remain a “vacation” trip.

More trips – will I find more road trips to love?

I’m looking at future trips and have several under consideration. One is to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in western North Dakota. I was there briefly many years ago, but I want to go back and see more of it. I’d also visit the Enchanted Highway west of Bismarck. Here’s a link to the highway.

Follow along for more road trip plans.
